Disney Challenge//Day 24
A Movie That Makes Me Cry
I’m not one to cry during movies (the only ones I can say that I have every truly cried during, meaning full-on tears streaming down my face constantly, were P.S. I Love You and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2), but there was one Disney movie that I did tear up in: Tangled. During the death scene of Flynn and his and Rapunzel’s exchanges during it, I could feel my eyes brimming with tears. I probably could have cried for real if my mom and sister hadn’t have been with me in the theater (I have this odd thing where I can’t cry during something if my family is with me). If it wasn’t for the fact that I was one when I first saw The Lion King, I probably would have cried when Mufasa died.
I AM HEARTLESS, YES I KNOW.

Disney Challenge//Day 23
A Movie That Makes Me Laugh
The Emperor’s New Groove, though not as popular as the more classic films, is the funniest Disney film I believe they have made yet. The quick and simple humor makes the movie. The character’s personalities, like Kuzco’s self-centeredness and Kronk’s general lack of common sense, adds more to the humor, as well. I love quoting this movie and I laugh at it every time I watch it.

Disney Challenge//Day 22
An Underrated Movie
Oh, I can name quite a few. Oliver and Company (such a cute story and I love the song “Why Should I Worry?”), Fantasia (the animation is BEAUTIFUL, and the music is, too), The Sword in the Stone (I just saw it for the first time recently, and I loved it! I wish I would have seen it when I was little), The Rescuers (I had a phase when I was little where I would watch this on repeat. I love it!), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (the one I think deserves the most attention out of all the underrated films. This one is so exquisite and SO much better than a lot of the movies that get the most attention), The Emperor’s New Groove (I quote this movie on a daily basis. The humor is great and it’s just so awesome), Atlantis: The Lost Empire (it is just awesome, okay?), and Brother Bear (I remember tearing up at this movie when I was little. It is such a great story and the music is great).
I feel the one that is the most underrated is The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Disney Challenge//Day 21
Overrated Movie
WHAT!? What kind of joke is this!? There isn’t a single Disney movie that doesn’t deserve hype and publicity. All of them are wonderful. (I am so original, aren’t I?) I refuse to answer. Sorry this is a boring post for this day! To make it up, enjoy this lovely picture: Disney by Xx_rawr_xX on deviantArt!

Disney Challenge//Day 20
Favorite Sequel
I have a huge, huge soft spot for Return to Neverland. I really love The Lion King II and The Little Mermaid II (ahh, childhood memories. I can still remember unwrapping both VHS tapes at Christmas), but Return to Neverland and me are the best together. I remember loving this movie when I was younger, but we never owned it. It kind of got pushed back into the dusty corners of my mind until one day, a few years ago, I saw that Disney Channel (yes, you heard me) was airing it. I sat down and watched it, and cried. (Well, I guess I should say teared up, but still.) The idea of growing up hit a little more at home in this one, having a more worldly view of things. At the time I was trying my hardest to seem as grown up as possible, not trying to bask in the joys of my remaining childhood. That movie was sort of an eye-opener that, hey, let me act like a kid for as long as I can! I shouldn’t be trying to grow up when I don’t have to quite yet! Besides that, the music was beautiful. Jonatha Brooks did an excellent job on the cover of “The Second Star to the Right”, and “I’ll Try” is one of the most beautiful songs, and I think it pretty much makes the movie. Also, the ending is always so touching, where Peter sees Wendy all grown up. It’s such a heartfelt moment, and you can’t help but smile
though the actual Peter Pan story has an even better ending that’s so bittersweet that your heart literally breaks for Peter. Anyways, like every Disney sequel, it didn’t live up to the first film, but this one was still really good. Still a little cheesy and lacking in the animation quality, just like the rest, but a true and touching story that I seriously enjoy.

Disney Challenge//Day 19
Least Favorite Pixar Film
Wow, really!? I have to pick one I don’t like as much as the others? Fine, I guess I can reason. If it comes down to it, I’d say that Ratatouille was my least favorite. Don’t get me wrong, it was wonderful and clever, but it just isn’t one that I would honestly want to watch over and over, or could watch over and over without getting tired of it. I also felt it didn’t have as much humor and “likeability”, per say, as other Pixar films, such as Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Up, and so on. I do really love the setting and general idea behind the movie, and it is a good film, just not one that I hold up as high as the other Pixar films.

Disney Challenge//Day 18
Favorite Pixar Film
Like with The Lion King, Toy Story was my first Pixar film, my first favorite, so it will always be my ultimate favorite Pixar movie. There’s just so much to love (and quote), and watching it now that I’m older, I pick up on so many things that my child-mind couldn’t. I will always love that movie!

Disney Challenge//Day 17
Least Favorite Classic
I know this is horrible to even say, but Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is my least favorite. I love how it’s the “one that started it all”, and I will forever respect that and love it. However, when I was little, I could never watch it all the way through because it scared me so much (especially the woods scene and the scene where the dwarfs chase after The Witch). I also was never too fond of the songs, the way they rhymed when they talked, and the fact that she lived with seven strange men. The movie never appealed to me as much as other Disney movies. I will always love it as the first Disney movie an Disney princess, though!

Disney Challenge//Day 15
First Movie You Saw
I was one when I first saw The Lion King. My mom told me that she could sit me in front of that movie, and I wouldn’t move or make a sound until it was over. She would apparently do that every day. (She called it my babysitter!) I remember having a Nala shirt that I would wear all the time when I was four or so (that’s my first memory I have of The Lion King personally), and a stuffed Simba toy. It’s still my favorite Disney movie!
Disney Challenge//Day 13
Least Favorite Song
This song for some reason just doesn’t appeal to me. I think it’s because the movie was confusing when I was little, and a bit creepy. But “I’ve Go No Strings” just was never one of my favorites.
Disney Challenge//Day 12
Favorite Villain Song
That’s another tough one, but “Hellfire” was one of the coolest villains scenes of any Disney movie. It’s an amazing scene, animation-wise, and the song is one of the best, too.
Disney Challenge//Day 11
Favorite Love Song
I See the Light is one of my absolute favorite Disney songs, period. It’s so beautiful, and the lanterns during the song in the movie was one of the most magical and amazing scenes in any Disney movie.
Disney Challenge//Day 10
Favorite Song
That is probably the hardest question ever. My new favorite changes every week or so, because I love every song so much! I guess one that I seem to never get tired of is “Part of Your World”. I have a few songs that I can always listen to almost all the time, including “Part of Your World”. I love to sing along to it in my car!

Disney Challenge//Day 9
Favorite Classic Character
The one and only Mickey Mouse! He IS Disney. When you think Disney, you think Mickey Mouse, and vice versa. Just as Walt Disney said “it all started with a mouse.” If it wasn’t for Mickey Mouse, Disney would probably not be where it is today.

Disney Challenge//Day 8
Favorite Villain
I used to love Maleficent in that sort of love-to-hate-her sort of way, but then I read the Kingdom Keepers series (an excellent series, by the way, if you are a big reader & Disney fanatic) and I just came to loathe her. She is sickly evil in those books to the point where I felt scared and had to pause for a moment to remind myself that it was just a book before I continued reading. Nevertheless, Hades is my new favorite. He has such awesome lines (and hair), and he makes me laugh. His suave-ness and sarcasm help make him a loveable villain.
